What's up Huky Forum?! Kameron here.
« on: February 05, 2015, 04:24:52 PM »
Hey folks! I'm Kameron, proud owner of HUKY #514.  I began exploring the world of specialty coffee about two years ago. Having never roasted coffee, by any method, ever, I recently took the plunge with a HUKY. After many hours of research, it became apparent that this was the machine for me. So far I'm having a blast, and learning every day.

I only have eight roasts under my belt, five with a Guatemala Patzun and two with an Ethiopian Kaffa, both from SM. I'm using the perforated drum, the infrared burner offered by Mr. Li, and running BT, ET, and MET probes through a Phidget 1048 to Artisan on my Mac. Data logging is fun.

I've spent countless hours lurking and occasionally commenting in other roasting forums, and I think a dedicated HUKY forum is absolutely fantastic. I look forward to getting to know some of you, and benefitting from the collective knowledge here. Thanks for having me, and happy roasting.

Welcome! Glad to have you aboard :)

Thanks!

Kam's over here too!  8) But what's wrong with you!?! How can data logging be fun!?! LOL! I guess you didn't suffer a bunch of lab time in school!  ;D

Of course I'm over here too! Lots to learn. I am seeing a bunch of 72rpm solid drummers in the forum, which admittedly is making me wish I had dropped the extra cash, but I'll either get over it or place another order. There's a small crack in my J-pipe collar as well, so I'll just start a shopping list.  :P

As for data logging, I suffered only the bare minimum of lab time in school.

Hmm, the j pipe collar crack sounds like a defect. I'd contact Mr. Li about that and see what he says. Does it affect anything or just cosmetic?

It's a hairline crack which emanates upward from the collar tightening screw. At this point it's merely cosmetic, but I suspect over time it might become an issue. I'm already corresponding with Mr. Li about another issue I'm having. I guess I'll mention the collar crack as well.
