... was one of the subjects discussed in detail in this episode of the Mill City Roasters "Coffee of the Month" videocast (#12 from May 31'th). Even though they are mostly using North roasters in the videos, Joe Marrocco is a Huky owner and have used a Huky in one of these videos.
Each and every video have got tons of good info in them, coming from a seasoned expert in coffee roasting (Joe).
Apart from how to go about starting up with a new roaster, which is discussed here every week, they also discuss the use of the trowel/tryer. There's been some info floating around on the 'net about it being a bad habit to even use the trowel, so it's good to have someone trustworthy talk about it using common sense.
I've seen all of the videos, a few of them two or three times when I knew that there was important information that I wanted to hear again. (If you decide to watch them from #1, they had problems with the technical aspects in the first couple of broadcasts, but that is taken care of since long.)
Do I have to say that I really like these videos and recommend them to anyone who wants to learn about roasting.
