Checking in from Portland, OR - #268
« on: August 08, 2016, 10:07:44 PM »
Hey all,

I bought my Huky - #268 -in July 13.  I have roasted about 150 lbs on it, and I have logged them all in Artisan.  I have been busy this summer so I didn't get it out of storage until today, I haven't used it since last year.  I decided to take it apart and give it a good thorough cleaning, it's first since I have owned it.

I took it apart and cleaned it, it was great to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail from that perspective.  I realized that I need to replace my rubber feet - they are shot and one of them crumbled when I was working.  I decided to do a check and found this forum, it didn't exist when I bought mine.  I see that the people that started it have number #275, so they must have bought in summer of '13 as well.

I also see this new exhaust pipe that is longer, and has the connector to the funnel.  I love this idea.  I could do the whole roast start to finish without taking that molten hot piece of steel off and swapping it.

I emailed Mr. Li and asked him about new feet and the new exhaust system.

In any case I want to say hey and hello and I love my Huky and after 150+ batches it works as well as new and looks as great as ever.

Awesome! I'm jealous that you got on board so early. I have to say that as much as I love the functionality of the T-connector pipe, the original Huky design is just so much more aesthetically appealing. It looks so compact and dense.

I just received my Huky tonight (#1096) so I'll be learning it at the same time that you're re-learning it  ;D

Welcome  :)
That number 275 is mine- goold old J tube style. I boughtt the newer style tube and funnel setup- was not difficult to install, but after a handfull of roasts I went back to the old style. Just got used to it and prefer that juggle I guess.

I've got an older one bought used, and added the digital ET probe in place of the analogue thermometer. Fascinating to observe the correlation between the two lines in Artisan.

Even useful without Artisan using a digital thermometer. I have a Fluke 54-II that is probably more accurate than the Phidget and real time as well.
