Hello Fellow Hukers - Jeff from San Diego here
« on: February 10, 2015, 10:58:49 PM »
Hello - glad to have found this group! I am new to roasting, and after lots of research decided on buying the Huky. I received my Huky from Mr Li about 4 weeks ago.  I have gotten it set up on a Commercial kitchen stainless table so I can roll it outside easily.  I will post some pictures of the setup soon.  I ordered My Huky with 3 probes BT/ET/MET, got the Center 304, USB connector, and have it all going through Artisan.  I bought just about every option Mr Li offered to give me the flexibility to play with different setups.  I have run a little over 5 pounds of beans through it so far and am working toward getting my roasting dialed in to get a "Sweeter" roast.  I have been using all Guatemalan beans so far since I am the most familiar with them from local roasters around these parts.  I have 2 fans and funnels, both motors, and both drums.  Right now I am using the perf drum with shutters closed and the infrared burner connected to a Gas Canister. I put a fan controller on the exhaust fan so I can vary the fan speed. I am anxious to review others roast logs and profiles and to hear the results in the cup from fellow members.  My goal is to open my own roastery sometime in the near future.  Nice to meet you all.  I will be posting some roast profiles in the appropriate section.  Love the flexibility of this great little machine.  If anyone else in the group is in Southern California I'd love to connect for cuppings etc.

Hey Jeff- welcome!
I'm up in LA. Let's just not mention the weather we're having lately- might cause others to hate us ;-)
