Evening All.

Anyone from South Africa with any experience importing the roaster.

Hi Mark!
Here in Belgium, I'll have to pay

1) about 4.5% import duty
2) 21% Value Added Taks

both above calculated on the total CIF value, i.e. cost of the roaster and extra parts, if any + Insurance (if specified on the invoice) + freight i.e. the transport.

and
3)  A flat rate for the Post Office's "Customs Clearance" charge, which I expect to be about 30 Euros ($ 35 or so).

That's hefty, but it's the Law. 

In RSA, it might be different, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were similar.

For that reason, I'm always extremely sceptical at (mostly US) forums indicating the price to be as little as "about 100-1200 dollars", because I know well that it is, with some double "appurtenances" (two fans, two sieves, two drums, two motors if that be the options), quite more expensive.  My ballpark figure would be about $1500 plus import costs.

Don't let that discourage you, check it out in depth and...take the plunge!

Thanks for the advice.

Just need to wait for the Rand Dollar rate to settle down
Then i think ill take the plunge. ;D
