Did you consider a North TJ-066?
« on: December 03, 2016, 05:46:48 PM »
I know we lost Johnny4LSU to a North TJ-067, and that he is very pleased with his upgrade.
That TJ-067 has a 1 kilo capacity and is just too much roaster for me, but the 066 (500 gram capacity) looks like it would suit me just fine.

Has anyone had experience with both the HUKY and the 066?

I am thinking that the increased thermal mass of the TJ-066 would improve my roasting from it's current state of 'just fine, thank you' to 'oh wow'....:-))))

Spring for the 067  ;D  8) ;)

I can't remember drum size of 066 vs Huky vs 067 exactly.

After having my 1k, I don't think I'll upgrade for a long long time, if ever.

Here's my thoughts, and I've followed your posts lately.

If your desire to upgrade is a less frustrating experience, go for the 066.

If your desire to upgrade is for better roasting and less frustration, go for the 067.

My worry for you is that the 066 will be a small upgrade for you, and it's quite a bit of money for that. And extra 1600 is a lot, but you get a LOT more roaster that's still capable of profiling 300g batches. Heck, many of my roasts are 454grams.

Just my opinion. Hope you can come to a peaceful conclusion :)

it's just money  ;D Ha.

The resale value of the North Roasters have been great, just like the Huky.
