Converting the IR burner from NG to propane

(1/1)

JDP:
I am considering purchasing a used Huky that is set up for natural gas but I would need to convert it to run on propane. From what I have read on this forum it is possible to make the conversion easily with a different sized orifice that can be purchased from Mr. Li for around $3. Is this correct? Am I missing anything in my understanding of this?

Igneous88:
That is correct.  The orifices are two little nozzles that he will send you.  He included the nozzles at a $3 charge when I bought my Huky.

Additional items you would need would be the propane tank and the regulator and hose.

I'm currently finding a good source for the regulator and can fill you in on where and what price I paid if you'd like.

JDP:
Thank you for the information. I assume a regulator should be relatively to find locally but I would appreciate it if you would let me know where you find yours.

I live in Denver a rather large city and had trouble sourcing a 50 mbar regulator. As most grills use 30 mbar, most stores stock that.
