I suspect that each one will produce a superb roast, that those roasts will never be identical, and that some beans may even do better with one or the other....
 
Of course I have no evidence whatsoever -- yet -- for that position  8)

Last year a BellaTaiwan Evo 4k  "direct fire"was delivered to LA with the help of Henry Chang in SF. Henry is on HB as Chang00 in case someone is interested in finding out which roaster ordered the machine with a perforated drum. It's cast iron with hand drilled holes.
