We don't seem to have a dedicated 'general' thread, so I'll do this one here:

With CES underway, and the meme of 'wearables' and the 'internet of things' being foisted with vigor, where is our wireless 'bean' thermocouple? I want a bright colored bean, bluetoothed to my puter/Artisan/whatever...long overdue. Oh, and where are those jetpacks?

Wireless would be great though- could use a smartphone instead of a laptop. I'd like that.

Speaking of pills...
Soon we'll be swallowing a 'droid' pill that takes metrics and analysis as it passes through. But I'd rather have remote BT measured before then!

Sure we can put a 4 port USB hub in a fridge and run it on Android but automating a coffee roaster is too complicated

Where there's a will there's a way... it'll happen eventually. I've got a reef aquarium and I've seen that hobby go from the invention of the wheel to space age in a ten year span. My aquarium emails me now if something is wrong, and I can fix it with my phone. Seriously!
