Funny :)
Seriously, in between first and second crack; 2-3 minute roast development time. i didn't like the 3 min. RD time for filter, but was great as espresso. Lots of chocolate and nuts; yummy with steamed milk.

I have been trying various charge temps and keeping my MET below 410 but am still seeing some tipping. Back to the drawing board.... Isn't that right Johnny?

Kody, do you have a profile you can upload?  Keeping MET below 410 doesn't make sense to me, so it would help if we could see it in context.

This roast was 250g
Fan was at 70 throught the entire roast
Gas was at 1kpa
@TP turned gas to 2
290f gas at 1.8
340f gas at 1.6
355 gas at 1.4

I've tried lower fan settings and higher gas after turning point.

You need to get input from someone with a solid drum, but from my perspective it looks like you need to be more aggressive:  charge at a higher temp, more gas, less fan ....

Give those beans a hotter environment;  when you charge, you will suck so much of that heat out so fast that you need more gas to compensate.  When you've gotten to 300 or so, you can then start cutting back on the heat and let the beans carry themselves a bit more.

Want me to send you some beans to practice on?  So you won't feel like you are wasting the good stuff?  Send me a PM.  I can ship you 2-3# of miscellaneous beans...

I've tried high charge temps and cranking it up to 5 kpa after TP.
I figured with them being a softer bean they didn't need a lot of heat...

Well, 5 kPa IS pretty high.  I've never taken my HUKY gas above 3.5 kPa.

I would try roasting with low air until just before 1C and leave the gas adjustments the same. And try to shorten up the total roast times, 1C in the 9:00 time frame. It's going to take some playing around with the gas to gain control; 1/2lb roasts are tricker than full pound charges.

I've roasted the same bean Kody is talking about. It's the recent Mexico Chiapas Organic from Bodhi Leaf. I can't figure out a way to roast it with not tipping. It seems as though it's impossible.
