Anyone ever change a bad on/off switch for the motor?
« on: October 17, 2015, 09:22:53 AM »
I received my Huky 500T this week and I am in the process of assembling.  As I got to the point of testing the power I noticed that my ON/OFF switch for the motor is basically useless.  It does not "click" on or off just slides left/right with zero resistance.  I took the back plate off and tightened up all that I could and still nothing....just flops left/right with no results.

It does not look too complex to replace but has anyone ordered a replacement switch assembly in the USA?  I sent a note to Mr. Li (just did this) and he has not had a chance to reply yet.

I did the obligatory search for the forum but did not see this issue addressed.  If I missed it please post me in the right direction!  Thanks!

John

OK,
So a quick trip to Home Depot and a $3.59 toggle switch did the trick.  I chose one that had nuts vice needing to solder.  Works fine and took less than 10 minutes to repair.

That is part of the bueaty of the Huky, it's basically a very simple machine. That is part of why I really love it. While I'd love to have a Giesen or a Diedrich 1kg roaster, I can achieve the same results on this little funky roaster for a mere fraction of the price tag.
Now, dare I roast even lighter?
