Hello all! I just got my Huky last weekend and am looking forward to learning from this community. I bought my Huky T used. I don't know if he is active on the forum here, but I hope I do you proud!
All I need to get roasting is a new fan, maybe two.
I currently work for the family business in the Houston, TX area and have a growing family myself. I started roasting in a popcorn popper in the fall. The big factor in home roasting was the lack of good coffee here. Even though my roasts in the popper were not perfect, freshness made all the difference.
Like quite a few, I have aspirations to get more into the coffee business. I worked for Starbucks for close to five years, before a brief stint with a non profit in Nashville TN. I fell in love with single origin, lighter roasts and the many third wave shops in Nashville. It is surprising that I havent found many comparable shops in Houston given how much larger Houston is.
