Sunday roasting and cupping at BoxAlarm's
« on: April 05, 2016, 07:02:11 AM »
I can vouch for BoxAlarm's cyclone and whole setup.  We saw it in action on Sunday.  His roasting area is amazing.  We had his Huky, Sample roaster and the San Franciscan all going.  Coffee coffee coffee.  The smells, the heat, the tastes, it was great.  His wife makes wonderful banana bread too.  A perfect day.

Some photos.

It was a lot of fun using the Jabez Burns sampler roaster and taking the controls on the San Franciscan. BoxAlarm's garage is a home roaster's dream.

I'm planning to cup some of the coffee I came home with today to see how they came out. I roasted some Kenyan on the Jabez, and the jar was very aromatic when I opened it. Very excited to try this one. Also have some Sweet Maria's Monkey Espresso Blend that came out of the San Franciscan that I'll put on the table.

Thusband, thank you for bringing that La Pavoni and playing barista for us. I've been yearning for the same experience that we had with this Panama. So good. Attached the profiles for my Panama and Sublime Espresso roasts (thank you for the exchange, Chert).

It was totally coffee heaven. You oughta come up in a couple of weeks and hang out. Make sure you bring the 'frilly pink polka' shirt for our themed get together. Since we already did black shirts, that's out of the question, lol.

Yeah, really Greg, you should come up.  It was a lot of fun and your expertise would add an awful lot.  We're working on another get together.
