Title: Natural Gas Setup?!?
Post by: Igneous88 on July 11, 2017, 11:20:00 AM
I have scoured the forums and found a few posts on natural gas, but I've never seen anyone post a picture of what their setup looks like.  I have a few questions if anyone out there can answer them.  I have ordered the IR stove with the NG orifice from Mr. Li.

I have read that most appliances using NG use 7" WC, which equates to about 1.74 kpa.  This seems to be regulated at the meter going into the house.  It supposedly can be more or less than this, but without knowing, I'm going to assume 7" WC.  That means that I'll probably have to get a dwyer low pressure guage to even get close to getting a precise read on the guage.  I know a lot of you all have the 0 - 3.75 kpa guage (LPG4-D8122N), but I'm wondering if I will need the the 0-2.5 kpa guage (LPG4-D8022N).  Both of these guages are found here:

I guess I could wait until my Huky gets here and test it out on the 10 kpa guage that Mr. Li provides, but I'd rather get it before so I can be ready.

I opted for a 3/8" FIP male fitting from the stove, but I'm curious to know what others used for NG.  I also had him throw in a 3/8" MIP just in case I wanted to go that route.  Does anyone have any pictures of their NG setup?  Do I need to put anything in the line from my 1/2" MIP ball valve to the 3/8" FIP fitting on the stove?  Will I need to put a regulator in there?

I appreciate all the help I can get.  I am new to roasting and want to get started once the little Huky arrives, so I'm trying to be ready.

Thanks!
Michael
