Title: Transferring roast files from Roastmaster for iPad to Artisan

Hey there!

Before getting my hands on a Center 301, I was manually logging roast parameters with RoastMaster's iPad app. Now that I'm able to automatically log temperatures, I've moved to Artisan and was wondering if there is a way to upload the roast files into Artisan.

Note - I've already exported the files with RoastMaster, which saves it in an SQL format.

I see that in Artisan
File > Import > Roastlogger is one of the options.
Have you tried that ?

I don't get any errors when I try it - but, there doesn't seem to be any data saved to my default location?

Sorry, I don't have Roastlmaster so I can't follow you any further into figuring  that out.  Seems like you're on the right track.

After digging a bit deeper, I found a few other ways to export which also don't work..  >:(

When exporting the entire database (i.e., hundreds of roasts), the only option is a .SQL file which Artisan is not capable with. However - you can export individual roasts as either .txt and .xml documents; BUT, both of these documents are formatted in such a way that only RoastMaster for iPad can understand, because the actual temp vs. time data doesn't appear to be inside of either file.

I'm going to chalk it up to, "RoastMaster doesn't want to support it's competition," and manually convert the background profiles i've been using so far. A pain, but not the end of the world.

Thanks for your help, Susan! I might reach out to the Artisan folk to see if they'd be able to ad .SQL as an import-able data format for the future.

Rostlogger is not Roastmaster.   

There is no export function in Roastmaster.  Why don't you continue to use Roastmaster, it does everything Artisan does and then some..   just a thought.

I would if I could!  ::) Unfortunately, there are only a handful of thermocouples that can connect to an iPad, and my Center301 is not one of 'em.
