Title: What probe for charge temp?
Post by: IRB123 on August 07, 2017, 01:16:37 PM
I've been using BT probe, but have read literature recently leading me to believe I might be using the wrong one? Could not find a straight answer anywhere.

I use BT.
I think it is more common here on this forum for people using the HUKY, most of whom are also using Artisan, that BT is the standard.

For other roasters, T/C placement may be different, the flow of heat and air will be different, etc., and for some of them ET may be a better indicator for them to use and share.

Still in all, it really doesn't matter which one you use as long as you know where you want its trajectory to go.

Doesn't matter, so long as it's consistent and inside the drum. But then maybe MET would work as well.

One reason to use BT is we track the rest of the roasting landmarks using the same graph line.
