Checkin it out here.....
« on: February 06, 2015, 02:27:56 PM »
Hi all!   I started roasting almost 3 years ago, and have been through what I thought was the normal progression of roasters:  a used Behmor to get my feet wet, then a Gene Cafe (that's now in need of repair), to a HT.  As expected, I can't keep up with demand on the HT, no matter how hard I try. So I'm looking for a roaster that can handle more than a 275g load.

I've met all kinds of nice people over at GCBC, but have gravitated away from there towards my coffee buds.  Susan is in love with her Hookie, so I started thinkin about one.    I've yet to make my purchase, but feel the itch.  I'm here to learn in a comfortable environment with friendly people.

Hope to join in the antics soon!

Patty

Hi and welcome :)
That Hookie does one pound batches beautifully and the wait time in between roasts is pretty darn short.

Big decision on which drum to buy with the Huky.
I'm going to order a third screen, less shuffling running two fans.

So you will have a screen for each of the fans and a separate one for the drop?

I clean/vacuum the chaff screen between roasts; having an extra would allow swapping out with a clean one. During the drying phase there's time to attend to loose ends.
