Hello from SoCal
« on: June 16, 2016, 07:42:55 PM »
Hello all.  :D  I live in Santee, CA (east San Diego county).  I first learned about this forum last week when I saw the "Saying Hello to Huky" video on Sweet Maria's youtube channel.  I have been roasting at home for four years using the heat gun + "dog bowl" method.  Several years ago I considered getting a Hottop basic but I haven't been in a big hurry.  I'm the only coffee drinker in my house and I only roast 6 to 8 ounces of green beans each week.

Based on what I have learned so far I am now certain when I do decide to purchase a real roaster it will be the Huky.  I intend to lurk and learn quite a bit here first.

Hello,

I am in San Diego as well and have been roasting on my Huky for about 18 months now.  I love it as it's really a miniature professional roaster.  I use Artisan, and spend a lot of time reviewing roast profiles as I sip the coffee I roasted.  Good luck with your learning curve.

I'm in San Diego too. Just placed my order. Let me know if you guys ever have interest in meeting up for a group roast to share ideas!

Hi - it's been a few months since I have been on the forum.  Wanted to check in on the other SanDiego Hukyites.  How's it going?  Still interested in a local get together?

Best,

JEff G
