2nd Roasting Competition is ON!

Bean selection not firm; Demitasse suggested a Guatemala or Kenya.

Mid-November Judging at Demitasse in Los Angeles

Bean distribution in Mid-October.

Note: We need a volunteer from LA to help at the judging
(This is a fun thing to do)  :)

My vote is Guatemala, but I'm open to either

As long as my schedule is free on the judging day, I'm happy to help out :)

I don't think my various time crunches will allow participation.

For home roasters with the Huky, I think a competition that occurs 1-3 months after bean acquisition makes the most sense.  It would take that long through various roast efforts for me to be sure I had something competition worthy.

I'm still learning with the Gedeo bean that was Roast and Learn in March / April.

I don't look at this as competition but more as a bit of fun and, especially, a learning experience   So Guatemala or Kenya doesn't really matter to me.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! Well, I have to wait long enough that I hope my huky gets here in time! 19 days since payment and counting!  ;D Looking forward to fumbling my way through adding heat to the beans and hey, even if there is a last place, I'd fight you for it! Just excited to be a part in something so fun with friends!!!!

Really wishing I had gotten my Huky order together now.  Looks like fun.  Perhaps I'll be set up by next time.

I think the details of this event will probably all be set out towards the end of next week when Greg gets back from his well deserved vacation.

I'm in as well...roasting in Fort Collins, CO.  Sounds like a blast!

On a side note, I run RoastLog and have it set up on my Huky.  Would anyone be interested in setting up with RoastLog so we could share profiles?  For example:

http://roastlog.com/roasts/93af3a0d9e0c0842/

My partner and I are discussing how we would do this for, say, 5 people at no cost.  We support Phidgets devices, so if you have one of those it's plug and play.  Alternately, if you have TCs and an iPad, you could use our iPad application and wireless (Bluetooth) device.
