Hi fellow coffee roaster.. Ireland
« on: January 27, 2016, 04:59:14 AM »
Hi Everyone. Thanks to blockcoffee for recommending this forum. I have been experimenting/studying coffee roasting for the last 3years (modified popcorn popper). I have been planning to upgrade to a more accurate roaster & have had my eye on a Huky.

I am currently finalising my order with Mr.Li (Huky500T) & need to research what are the main components to include in my order.

One query I have is regarding the electrical requirements.I see the motor is based on Voltage:110V~220V. In Ireland we use 220V ~ 240V. Will the AC adapter be sufficient?

Anybody from Ireland on this forum?

I look forward to bouncing ideas & observations with fellow huky owners.

Tony, welcome ...I live in Australia and also use 230Vac the motor is DC and the AC to DC converter works with no issues.

Thanks for the welcome Jarnold.

I just received an email from Mr.Li "Don't worry !
My AC Adapter AC Input Voltage:100V~240V. DC output: 24V"

I am eager to order the Huky.. Just need to clear a few niggling questions prior to submitting my order.

Exciting times!

There's a great forum here on pre-ownership considerations, https://www.hukyforum.com/index.php/board,1.0.html

The thread where people post pics of their roasting setup gives you a visual what it's all going to look like once you unbox it and some insight into additional products you may want to purchase. https://www.hukyforum.com/index.php/topic,61.0.html

Just be sure to specify that you're in Europe and that you use 230V. (Be prepared to change the plugs, as the fans etc. seem to have US style blade prongs. Mr. Li sends some sort of travel adapter, but that didn't really fit. No big deal though and you should be able to source those Irish (same as UK?) plugs just about anywhere.)
Now, dare I roast even lighter?
