Problem With Artisan Temperature Logging
« on: May 27, 2016, 11:10:39 PM »
Hey Everyone,

Finally received my new Huky this week!

I followed Phidget 1048 instructions and downloaded the installer for OSX. From there, I was able to open the Phidget window and observed my thermocouples showing the right temperature. Afterwards, I followed the instructions for downloading and fine tuning Artisan. I was ready to roast, but for some reason Artisan was not showing any temperature readings. Once I clicked "START", The BT, ET, and MET all read "-1". However, when I looked at my Phidget screen, I could see that my Thermocouples were reading 28-29 degrees C. So it seems I have downloaded Phidget, but Artisan does not synch with it.

Anyone experience this problem? I went back to Artisan to make sure it was configured to a "1048 Phidget" device", but even that didn't work. Any advice would be appreciated.

I had the same issue using MacBook Air (late 2010 Model, running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4).  Try unplugging/replugging the USB cable into the computer while Artisan and Phiget are running.  This is what I have to do to get the thermocouple data to appear.  Also, it seems that the USB port next to the power supply works but the one of the other side of the computer does not work.

It reads as if you have the Phidget Control Panel open at the same time that you have Artisan open?  That won't work.

If you haven't yet, go to the Phidget site and read the installation information.  It's pretty clear there.
That might not have anything to do with your problem, but it comes to mind.

Thanks for your help! I finally got it to work.

I downloaded artisan again from the "Quick Downloads" link again and that apparently worked. Now onto roasting!
