Make it easier on yourself:  Don't worry about pushing buttons yet.  (I still can't push the bleeping buttons).

Print out  a plan and follow it.   When you finish the roast, print out your graph and look at how the changes you made impacted the trajectories of BT, ET, ROR.  Then make a new plan for the next time and print it out.  If you need a record, staple the original plan and its graph together and save them for reference. 
Here's a sample of a plan (not to be taken literally since it's just a step along my way with the perforated/slow configuration).

Good idea SusanJoM.  I had a plan and I was trying to remember the buttons.

You charge at 440f?  That's pretty high isn't it?  I'll have to try that.

That is probably too high for your solid drum/fast motor configuration.

I meant to add that you should NOT try to copy my plan, that it was just an example.
It is just a step along my journey AND it is for a perforated/slow set-up.

Right.  I'll stick to the lower charge temps.
