Hello from Bristol, England
« on: August 01, 2016, 11:43:50 AM »
Hi all,

I am planning to start home roasting soon and have decided that the Huky is the roaster for me so I was very happy to find this forum!

I haven't ordered my Huky yet as I am trying to find out as much as I can to make sure I order exactly what I need and I am finding loads of really helpful information on here so thanks for the help!

It's great to see people from all over the world coming together on this forum to discuss all things Huky but I would be particularly interested to hear if anyone out there has any advice on importing the Huky to the UK - is there anything I need to know about import costs/timscales, anything I need to look out for or avoid etc?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to learning more!

Jon

Sorry just realised that arowe724 asked about UK customs issues in a post back in March so apologies for repeating that.  I did check to see if anyone had already asked about the UK but must of missed one!

Anyway if anyone has anything new to add on importing to the UK would be great to hear about it!

Hi and welcome.
As the UK still is in the EU, I take it the EU rules apply. I.e you don't have to pay any custom charges as such, but maybe some kind of charge for customs to calculate the VAT, meaning you have to pay VAT for the price given by Mr. Li on his shipping ticket (including shipping costs, but that is the normal procedure for any imports from abroad). If you're lucky, they will miss it altogether, but I guess changes are slim.
Now, dare I roast even lighter?
