Probe Location Specs
« on: September 12, 2016, 08:21:09 AM »
I have recently purchased number #256 from a gentleman in SOCAL, but he only had the BT on the huky. I have purchased a few more thermocouples to work with the 1048 Phidget. I would like to keep the probe location consistent as other members for MET.

Does anyone have specs on where Mr. Li has drilled and set the probes on the face plate of the huky for MET?

I know some have used a plexi-glass cover to figure out probe location, but I figured I would ask before going through all the work to do.

Are there any other locations where people place probes? I will have BT, ET, and MET. Does exhaust temp matter if I have MET? Should I also log the temp of the room that I will be roasting in, does this matter?

Thank you for your help,
Smitty

If you have the analogue dial thermometer for the ET I would get the brass bushing and thermocouple from Taiwan so both are a match.

The MET is not worth bothering with IMHO, unless it's already drilled out. BT and ET are more than enough.

I'd also get some spare parts if getting airmail package from Taiwan. Screws, bearings, grease, maybe a motor.
