Hello!
« on: January 31, 2017, 06:17:20 AM »
Hello from Florida! I've been home roasting for about 2 years now on the ol whirley-pop, and itching for a drum roaster.  I've decided on the Huky, thanks in large part to the shared wisdom and Huky community on this forum (lurking until now 👀).  Will likely pull the trigger by the end of February, following some additional research on drum type and exhaust...leaning solid drum, and J -- but not 100% on that yet.  Im a hobbyist with an appetite larger than my free time and/or wallet can support, but looking forward to diving in shortly!  Thanks for the shared knowledge and support on this site, I look forward to sharing as well!

Welcome fellow Floridian.

I just started roasting (5 roasts to date) on a pre-owned Huky #835.

Hey folks, I pulled the trigger in early February; excellent experience with Mr. Li. Already have 3 roasts under my belt and each one improving on the prior. Working on getting that initial RoR up to 30F/ min as I have only been at 24 so far.  Question for Hankua: I'm trying to replicate one of your profiles I downloaded from the artisan site...regarding your fan labels, when I see "F17", is that a variac 17 setting or a fan setting of 17%?

Experienced a chaff clog in exhaust pipe on last roast and didn't realize it until post-roast, so that one went long.  I know some greens have more chaff, so thinking I needed more ventalation prior to DE.

Having a blast so far, and enjoying all the resources provided on this site. Thanks all!
